wait so you know how the function of sleep is to consolidate your memories from the day? what if the reason we remember some dreams and not others, and the reason we forget most of them, is because generally we dont teach our brains to remember our dreams because our brain doesn’t think it’s important but when dreams are particularly emotion-inducing (can signify a reason to remember it) or when we’ve already done enough memory consolidation from the day so we then have cognitive capacity to make the effort to remember it. so following that. is there any study on the ability to remember dreams and sleep length? i should probably stop writing this in a 2am text post and actually look this up thanks fr reading
